Some years ago 22 people including myself visited Jamaica on a youth and cultural exchange program. Our primary goal was to investigate Jamaican lifestyle to that of the children of Jamaican parents living in the United Kingdom. The trip was also to learn the history and legacy of the Jamaican people. On touring the island we visited Accompong, a free state in Jamaica that won its freedom by the Maroon triumph over the British occupiers of the island. Not knowing who to speak to, we were pointed to one of the town's elders, who described himself as the scientist of the area. He is the one that the community would look to for healing and the summoning of the Ancestors in times of trouble. The gentleman welcomed us into his home where he told us stories of the past that had handed down to him through his ancestors. According to him, he holds infinite power and the community looks to him for protection, he holds the keys as protector of the town and has the power to summon the spirits of the Ancestors and lead them into battle in times of trouble. He was surely a very powerful man indeed that demonstrated his powers by holding our transportation wheel spinning round not able to leave his premises without his command. It was surely an eerie day and an experience none of the team on that trio will ever forget..The practice of Ancestral science still flourish and although somewhat diminishing, still plays a strong role in places such as Brazil and across the Caribbean.

For many thousands of years, the science of the Ancestors in healing and defence had been meaningful tools in many communities across the globe. The practice dated back through ancient Egypt and no doubt before records began. We know that the practice was in the Americas pre-European and across Asia. Today the practice tends to be stronger on the African continent and in nations strongly influenced by African cultures. For many people who do not understand this practice, for them, it is a dangerous practice in summoning the spirit of the dead of which may cause harm or other negative impact. There are however many that have witnessed the impact, and know its reality.

The wisdom of this particular science is unwritten and tends to pass down the line through generations. There is no doubt that the practice had been watered down, hence losing its true value and in today those that control what left of the science primarily uses it for their own profit, hence negating the particular science potential benefits if put to good use. Recently in an article on the potential impact of the coronavirus on Haiti in which they discussed the various preparations that are ongoing in the country the use of the science was discussed. In the article some of the practitioners of this science told the reporter that they already through this form of science have a cure for the virus. What if this is true? We know that WHO or none of the socall western nations would accept it. So the question is what if this science could be developed to enhance humanity, find meaningful healing and protection for the whole nations in times of trouble. What if this science could be really used to fight off viruses and diseases? Imhotep of ancient Egyptian was well known to have diagnosed and treated over 200 diseases that include tuberculosis, appendicitis, gout, gallstones and arthritis. Imhotep methods of the curing of these diseases was with the use of the spirit world. What if the Ancestors Gods had put in place to protect the nation.
